Keep it dry

-

QI am taking my DSLR and one lens on a small boat for a shoot. When I’m not shooting, I want to make sure my gear is completely dry. What could I use to protect it all? Tanya South

AWhen I’m working from inflatable boats in the polar regions, I always have a drybag I purchased from a specialist online drybag supplier. When we’re heading back and the spray is flying about, I can tuck the camera safely away. The bag itself isn’t padded, so it won’t protect the contents from bumps, but it is 100% waterproof.

You can place some foam in the base to add a bit of extra protection and put a microfibre towel on the top, too, because when you open it, you might get a few drips inside. A basic, waterproof drybag should only cost you around

£20 for something big enough to house one camera and lens.
