Nikon announces the winners of its Photo Contest 2020-2021

Grand Prize awards for photo and short film categories each won ¥500,000 (approximat­ely £3,348/$4,565), with other prizes including Nikon Z-series goodies

Entered by Amin Nazari from Iran, a piece entitled ‘Radiance’ was the recipient of the photo competitio­n Grand Prize. The short film competitio­n Grand Prize was won by Rei Kuroda from Japan, for a piece titled ‘Escaping from Karma’. The winners were selected from the 65,062 entries submitted by approximat­ely 26,000 people, from 150 countries and regions around the world. There are two categories in both the photo and short film competitio­ns: the Open Category was themed ‘Connect’ and was open to all ages, while the Next Generation Category was themed ‘Passion’, and was only open to those aged 25 or under as of 31 December 2020.

The archive video of the online awards ceremony is available to view on the Nikon Photo Contest 2020-2021 website, and the winning works will also be showcased at the Nikon Photo Contest 2020-2021 street exhibition; this will take place in Shibuya, Tokyo, before moving on to New York (18-31 October) and London (1-14 November). www.nikon-photoconte­st.com
