Not one but two high-end cameras lead our reviews section this month.

While it’s unusual for two bodies of this ilk to come along just a couple of weeks apart, it’s not unknown, and it certainly gives our test team something to get stuck into. The Canon EOS R3 is the brand’s new flagship mirrorless, and will more than meet the needs of professional sports and news shooters. And while many enthusiasts will regard the R3 as irrelevant to them, some of the cutting-edge tech inside it won’t take long to filter down the Canon range. Fujifilm’s GFX 50S II really could be a game-changer, offering the magic of medium-format for the same price as a premium mirrorless – it really is a lot of camera for the money. We’re running hands-on reviews of both models in this issue; check our website for the lab test results and our final ratings when they’re available. Also this month, we round up our best ‘nifty fifties’ for DSLR and mirrorless, and test three new lenses including Sigma’s 150-600mm f/5-6.3, a popular supertele reworked for Sony E and Leica L mounts.
