Combine foreground types

Anchors, textures and leading lines can often be combined to give really satisfying scenics. In this shot, taken in Norfolk, the saltmarsh pond anchors the composition, but room has been left around it to allow the detailed texture of the grasses to add interest. The lens has been positioned to make the curved shape of the pond point towards the background detail, leading the viewer’s eye into the frame.
