Camera skills Noise reduction

Hide bright spots revealed by a long exposure

-

On some cameras, Long Exposure Noise Reduction tackles the type of image noise that’s generated by the heat of a long exposure – including annoying ‘stuck’ pixels that show up as bright pinpricks of light in the same place in each shot. Activating it means that the camera essentially creates two exposures – one of which is made with the shutter closed so that the camera can map where the noise is, then remove it.

?? ?? Warning! This type of noise reduction requires two exposures, so it takes twice as long to take a photo.
