The GVM (Great Video Maker) 800D is budgetpriced, but rich in features. 168 white and yellow LEDs deliver a colour temperature range of 3,200-5,600 Kelvin, with an impressive Colour Rendering Index of >97; it also boasts 84 RGB LEDs. These enable a wide spectrum of coloured light with adjustable hue and saturation.

Master and slave modes are also available for multiple panels and eight built-in special effects include TV, candle and emergency vehicle.

Performance

The bi-colour LED count of 168 is a lot lower than the 660 of the competing Neewer. Sure enough, the maximum output level is relatively disappointing, equating to just f/2.8 and shrinking to f/2.2 when using the diffusion panel.
