IN-CAMERA TIPS

-

GET SET UP

1

Set up your camera on a tripod and zoom in to get the framing you want. You can also move and rotate the flowers around to fine-tune the lighting and, if you’re shooting a bunch, get the arrangement looking perfect. Zoom in using Live View to check your focus is pin-sharp on the part of the flower you want to be in focus.

DIAL IN THE SETTINGS

2

Go into Aperture Priority mode and set the ISO to 100 for best image quality and switch on the self-timer mode so that you don’t nudge the camera when you press the shutter button, as this could cause camera shake. Set the aperture to control how much depth of field you want. (See the tips panel, right.)
