Photoshop is a great tool, which can produce great pieces of artwork for your home, or as a gift for family and friends. In this short tutorial, I will show you how to turn a simple portrait into a modern masterpiece for your home. It is a fun project, which shows you how you can use this software creatively with your photos.

Have a look through some of your old photos from your image library; look for a portrait image that is shot against a simple background. A strong outline is also helpful: we will be cutting out the person out of the background later. Consider the composition, pose, hair, and elements like jewellery or clothing. By the end of this tutorial, we aim to achieve a colourful screenprint-style art print.
