New year, new Nikon glass
Another fast standard zoom is coming to the Z-mount very soon, and a high-end prime for advanced enthusiasts and professional photographers is in development
Nikon has added a new full-frame standard zoom to its family of mirrorless Z cameras, and has announced that a full-frame 800mm supertelephoto prime is in development. The Nikkor Z 28-75mm f/2.8 will be suitable for a range of shooting needs, including landscapes, portraits and street scenes – as well as macro, thanks to the optic’s minimum focusing distance and its constant f/2.8 aperture.
Designed to focus quickly and sharply, even when shooting close-up, Nikkor’s new zoom features a rounded nine-blade aperture to render beautiful bokeh and help you capture next-level portraits. Dust- and drip-resistant, with an easy-to-clean coating, the Z 28-75mm f/2.8 also features a smooth, clickless control ring that can be used for precise focusing, as well as for adusting settings including aperture, exposure compensation and ISO. The new optic is 75mm in diameter and 121mm long, weighs 565g and is due to go on sale early this year.
Nikon also announced the development of the Nikkor Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S, a new addition to the brand’s top-tier S-Line offering. High rendering performance and superb mobility are promised, in a compact and lightweight body enabled by the adoption of a PF
(Phase Fresnel) lens.
