Sigma 20mm f/2 DG DN

New wide-angle for Sony E-mount and Leica L-mount

-

This ultra-compact, wide-aperture prime is the seventh optic to join Sigma’s I Series lineup – a range of lenses that’s specifically designed to suit smaller and lighter modern mirrorless cameras.

This new lens is very sleek, weighing just 370g and measuring 72.4mm in length. Not only will it be perfect for taking out with you at all times, it also costs far less than Sony’s 20mm F/1.8 G lens – you can save yourself almost £300 on the RRP of the Sony prime while only losing 1/3 of an f-stop. The 20mm f/2 DG DN’s optical construction comprises 13 elements in 11 groups, including three high-precision glassmoulded aspherical lens elements, one SLD element and one FLD element. The sleek all-metal build of this new Sigma optic includes a signature I-Series magnetic lens cap, a smooth, manual aperture ring and a focus ring. The 20mm f/2 DG DN’s filter thread is 62mm. www.sigma-imaging-uk.com; £649/$699
