Cropping raw files
If you shoot raw files and prefer to use Camera Raw or Lightroom for the majority of your image editing, then their built-in crop tools are the best place to start the cropping process. Like all raw edits, cropping in Camera Raw/Lightroom is completely nondestructive, so cropped areas are never completely lost. Many of the shortcuts (see tip 2) are the same as the Photoshop tool. You can also make use of handy raw features like the Upright buttons in the Geometry panel that automatically detect and correct wonky horizons.
