How to create a strong portrait compositio­n

Try the rule of thirds – it doesn’t have to be scientific­ally exact, but aim to get the eyes and main area of the face lying across one of the thirds in your frame. You could always use a grid overlay in your viewfinder if desired, but some photograph­ers feel that doing this can sometimes impede the view of what you’re shooting.
