Participating in an organised portraiture session like ‘Roaring Twenties’ is a great way of practising and honing technique. Models, performers and actors are very comfortable in front of a camera and this style of photography is far less intrusive than street shooting. If you do join an event like this, then try out a variety of focal lengths and shooting distances.
