Don’t ignore the corners

Objects in corners of square-framed photograph­s should not detract from the subject in the middle. Frequently, the negative space that surrounds the centre forms an interestin­g shape that accentuate­s the subject. Having the corners out of focus, or darker or lighter than the central image, can achieve this objective.
