Don’t ignore the corners

Objects in corners of square-framed photographs should not detract from the subject in the middle. Frequently, the negative space that surrounds the centre forms an interesting shape that accentuates the subject. Having the corners out of focus, or darker or lighter than the central image, can achieve this objective.
