Some new camera models, such as the Canon EOS R5, feature an eye detection mode specifically made for animals. This helps lock the focus point onto an animal’s eye and using a continuous servo AF mode will continually refocus on the eyes as the animal moves, to make sure it’s pin-sharp. It’s worth checking to see if your camera has a feature like this, as it’s incredibly useful for photographing moving animals.
