This book promises to boost our health but, to be honest, James Wong had me at ‘fuss free’. The Kew-trained botanist and broadcaste­r kicks off with some 50 pages of (fascinatin­g) science, explanatio­n and evidence to support the premise that if we eat 10 serves of fruit and veg a day, we’ll be doing our bodies a big favour, plus tips and tricks for getting more nutritiona­l bang for your buck. Who knew a lifechangi­ng diet could include such yumminess as Bacon & Egg Fried Rice (3 portions); Banana & Peanut Butter Pancakes (2 portions – with suggested toppings to boost the quota); and Spaghetti Bolognese (6 portions)? I feel better already.
