YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE

Gisborne’s favourite brewery has been given a multi-milliondollar makeover in time for the 2019 spring season with a new brew-kit, a new brewer and a brand-new look. Now in its 30th anniversary year, Sunshine is New Zealand’s oldest independent brewery and in March a new brewhouse was commissioned from American Beer Equipment (ABE). The brewery is managed by Joe Williams (above, right) and the new brewer is Dave Huff (above left), previously of Hallertau Brewery, who is relishing his time in the first fully automated 25bbl ABE brewhouse to be installed in New Zealand. So if you’re out east, zip along to the taproom on Awapuni Road to try the classic Gisborne Gold and Gisborne Pilsner, alongside new seasonal and limited releases. sunshinebrewery.co.nz
