CHILL WITH A PINOT
Think of a summer wine, and pinot noir might not be the first drop to spring to mind. But a light, young variety from boutique winery Deep Down may just make pinot our warm-weather tipple of choice. “The vibrancy and freshness of this wine lend itself to drinking through all seasons, and it’s delicious lightly chilled during the summer months,” says Clive Dougall, winemaker and co-founder of the Marlborough winery. Certified organic and sulphur-free, it’s literally just grapes in a bottle. And it’s only 12.5% alcohol so you won’t be a tottering liability near the barbecue.
