TIMELESS BODIES

This is David Vance’s tenth photography book and fans will remember his previous titles such as Erotic Dreams, Timeless and Heavenly Bodies. Once again, his subject is the male nude, but his images are distinguished by a sense of history and classicism. Writer David Leddick sums it up succinctly in the book’s foreword, “David Vance exalts the beauty of the male in a timeless way... a beauty that makes little reference to current fashions, trends or tastes.” The images are a mix of black-and-white and also muted colour images. Many of the extremely handsome models are captured in motion, others are poised to take flight, while others rest in repose. This is a sophisticated, classic collection for those who appreciate artistry and aestheticism when it comes to the male nude.
