JAY BRANNAN – AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 JAYS

-

While not the commercial breakthrough album (or “covers EP” as the case many be) many would have liked from Jay, this still fills a certain niche perfectly. It kicks off with Black Boys On Mopeds, Sinead O’Connor’s anti-Thatcher hymn, and includes the German track Du Hast Den Schönsten Arsch Der Welt, which literally translates to “you have the sweetest arse in the world”. Besides covering Gotye’s Somebody That I Used To Know in lo-fi acoustic, there’s also songs sung in French, Italian, Spanish and Portugese – hence the name of the album/EP. A nice little filler but here’s to a proper gamechanging Jay Brannan album, please.
