STARRFUCKER by Jeremy Lucido
Jeremy Lucido started a blog about gay porn called Starrfucker more than a decade ago, and began publishing Starrfucker magazine in 2010. He has also had a long career behind the scenes in gay porn and has worked at online production company Randy Blue since 2005, where he is now Production Manager. His aim with Starrfucker was to combine the two main interests in his life – fine art photography and gay porn. This monograph showcases the best photographs from all issues of the magazine to date – a street-wise, alternative view of the men of Los Angeles. No professional models or shaved torsos here; these are real men with real bodies, often heavily tattooed and pierced.
This collection of black-and-white images stands out from the Bruno Gmünder catalogue as something very different and will likely appeal to fans of the Butt magazine aesthetic. In his introduction, photographer/artist Venfield 8 gives a pithy summary, “Starrfucker magazine delivers a thrill that is not only visual, but visceral... the models are seldom pretty, but always beautiful. The photos are sexually charged, thanks to a lack of formal poses. There is imperfection and realness.”
