DELTA GOODREM – INNOCENT EYES (10th ANNIVERSARY)

Sometimes it feels a decade has gone by in just the blink of an innocent eye. So it is with Delta’s debut album, which came out ten years ago. To celebrate, Delta and her muso mates re-recorded the 14 songs from her million-selling Innocent Eyes in an acoustic setting. Listening to these songs again, what strikes you instantly is that Born To Try, Lost Without You and Not Me, Not I remain among the finest Australian pop songs of all time. It also makes you wonder why Delta has never been quite able to return to this level of glory. If anything, this reworked album highlights the fact it is time for Delta to get back to penning more great heartbreaking power ballads and, once and for all, prove she’s a true global star.
