CELINE DION – LOVED ME BACK TO LIFE

Mercifully, Celine hasn’t gone all dub step or progressive house but, relax, it’s more of her genteel, sweet ditties that lots of young folk will soon be warbling badly on The Voice. The title track, written by Sia, updates her sound but better is when Celine tackles big-hair ballads like Somebody Loves Somebody or the slick duet Incredible with Ne-Yo. Her take on Aussie Daniel Merriweather’s moody Water And A Flame is a perfect fit, while the cover of Janis Ian’s ugly duckling classic At Seventeen is heartwrenching – and worth the price of the album alone. She won’t change or save the world but boy can Celine still sing.
