INSIDE THE MINDS OF DNA READERS! EMAILS, LETTERS, TWEETS, FACEBOOK POSTS, CARRIER PIGEON DISPATCHES AND RAMBLINGS
I began my subscription to DNA because the men are absolutely beautiful: fit, sexy, and classically posed with photos frequently published full page. They are so handsome it took me several issues to realize that they are not fully naked! Plus the articles offer a global view of issues of interest to gay men. This is a rare combination. So, I became quite alarmed at your stereotypical bias language about the “AfricanAmerican teenage boy from the ghetto who’s done time in jail” in the Urban_Homosexual [DNA #169]! Perhaps your magazine is not enlightened after all.
Including this statement was a disservice to the shallow troglodytes among us who actually believe in that stuff and need to learn from real world examples of inclusive language. We’re often victims ourselves so you should know better. You also need to include a greater racial diversity among your models. I suggest you photograph the real men of New York City during our summer. Please let me know when you’re coming. Paul Evans, Brooklyn Apologies for Urban Homo’s offensiveness, Paul. He’s a fictional mess who exhibits bad behaviour, makes poor life choices and by all means is not intended to be a role model. For more racial diversity, check out Singapore’s scorching Jason Chee on page 70. I love your articles, which I find very interesting, entertaining, funny, and informative and the photos of sexy models are wonderful. I read your story about the photographic exhibition on redheads with keen interest. Could you remind me which issue it was in? I would like to read again and enjoy admiring all the sexy ranga boys. Thomas Carrie. No worries, Thomas. Fanning The Flame appears in DNA #167. I particularly liked the cover story on Marcus Ricci [#168]. Yes, he is amazing and I’d love to see more of him (who wouldn’t?) but flicking through #169, I saw a model advertising BCNU clothing. Has he ever been a cover story candidate and if not could you please do one? I love a guy with hair on his chest and what a looker he is! Ed Nowicki, Long Jetty, NSW Grrr, Diego. He’s been a hit on the DNA blog.
LETTERS Who’s the hot Asian in this month’s [#171] and last month’s DNA magazine... HOT! Name withheld. His name is Jeremy, but that’s all we’re giving away!
