SOLOMON – LE GARÇON
This 11-track EP (which really constitutes a whole album if you ask us!) clocks in at just under 37 minutes but gives gay rapper Solomon the opportunity to showcase not just his hip hop skills but also his gorgeous voice. Sometimes he intertwines both, as in Swim No More (like an updated, openly black and gay version of a Pet Shop Boys track with its “You only love me when I’m gone” refrain). Fellow gay rapper LastO appears on Boomerang, while 3 Dolla Bill is quite possibly the best rap song you’ve ever heard. It’s powerful, meaningful and comes with a sinister groove. Just try not to move to this future queer classic. “Our bodies melt like a Salvador Dali” is just one of the awesomely sexy lyrics here – Eminem suddenly seems so last century.
