PALOMA FAITH – A PERFECT CONTRADICTION

This album’s first single, Can’t Rely On You, teams Paloma with man of the moment Pharrell Williams and sees her upping her funky self significantly. She’s still as loveably wacky as ever (see the mad video for Can’t Rely On You) but this seems to signify Paloma is finally ready to chase stardom on the level of Adele and not settle for being a critics’ darling forevermore. There’s even a big hairbrush power ballad, Only Love Can Hurt Like This, courtesy of Diane Warren (the woman responsible for power ballad hits like LeAnne Rimes’ How Do I Live, Taylor Dayne’s Love Will Bring You Back and Celine Dion’s If You Asked Me To). Expect A Perfect Contradiction to turn Paloma into the household name she deserves to be.
