FOSTER THE PEOPLE – SUPERMODEL

When we first heard FTP had called their new album Supermodel we immediately thought, “At last the indie pop world has realised the importance of RuPaul’s classic gay house of the early ’90s!” Alas, it was not to be and this album is actually FTP’s usual policy of jangly guitar rock buffed and polished with big rambling choruses to make them radio staples. Opener Are You What You Want To Be is a solid catchy place to start, while Coming Of Age is suitably jaunty and Best Friend is most likely to get them back in the charts. They might not have stumbled across another Pumped Up Kicks here, but FTP have plenty to appease the faithful. And… they better work!
