LANA DEL REY – ULTRAVIOLENCE
Let’s be brutally honest: Lana Del Rey is one moody bitch. LDR loves having a good moan about failed romances, summers that have faded and drinking hard liquor at all hours. All of this only adds to her charm (as well as the fact she liberally drops the F-bomb in many of her songs). Proving she even has something of a sense of humour, her second album includes Fucked My Way To The Top, her twisted way of making fun of herself. At least we think that’s her intention. Elsewhere it’s business as usual with heartbreak ballads and Lana’s ethereal voice sounding like a fallen angel who has seen too much, too soon. While there’s nothing to rival Cedric Gervais’ remix of Summertime Sadness, which reinvented her as a dance diva, expect many tracks here to be reconfigured into big room anthems in the hands of the right people.
