CUMBERBATCH ON TURING

-

“The first moment I read the script I was intrigued by [Turing]. It presented him in all his spectacular brilliance, his oddness, his different nature, his very literal interpretation of language and his pedanticness… slowly, this beautiful unfolding of why he was this person that you meet at the beginning of the film and then what he evolved into. How profound the effect this man had on our world and the overall effect of his story when I finished the script really winded me and made me want to be a part of this. He was a remarkable man. Even though he’s a very unlikely and very uncompromising one, the best heroes make it better and easier to be human.”
