DEADMAU5 – W:/2016ALBUM/

DNA Magazine - - MUSIC REVIEWS -

This month’s theme seems to be about artists who’ve changed their name to something catchy. In this case Deadmau5 (FYI: the “5” is said like an “s”) is mild-mannered Joel Zimmerman who, for the last decade, has been twisting and taunting the dance scene with his exercises in great music, total self-indulgence and crapping on other celebrities. This is his eighth proper album of sorts and another journey into the future of trance. 4ware starts off the proceedings with lots of thumping stops along the EDM highway, but the best bits are when our Mousehead tries on different hats, like the minimalist electronica of Cat Thruster, or the Moby-ish Snowcone.
