DNA: Is there an ethos behind Undered?

At Undered, we are passionate about embolding the feeling of self-empowerment in individuals who are actively making a positive change in the world. People appear distinctly different from one another and they can never be duplicated or replaced, but underneath we share a bond that makes us all human. At Undered, we celebrate the beauty of being human. I am Undered, you are Undered, and above all else – we are Undered.

Why start a menswear label? Was it a long-held ambition?

Yes, the vision has been with me for a while. In a way, it defines who I am. I started the company in late 2015 and launched the first ranges in early 2016.

What is Undered’s point of difference to other brands?

When it comes to the sophisticated man, he values superior craftsmanship. He cherishes his possessions as if they are extensions of himself. His closet is a sanctuary. He has a polished sense of style and he carefully selects each item before adding it to his finely-tuned wardrobe, as if to give an invitation rather than to make a purchase. Undered creates superior-quality garments. Even a little extra quality goes a long way. Cutting corners has never been something we’ve considered. Our price point is competitive and our product is a cut above the rest. That’s what sets Undered apart from other brands.

What inspires the Undered designs?

We’re creating garments that are timeless rather than trendy so we tend to keep within a more conservative mind-set. Fashion trends come and go but comfort and quality are here to stay. For this reason, we keep our designs simple but with a bit of European f lare. Our business is not about creating complicated garments with gimmicks or outrageous designs that fall apart after a couple of washes. Actually, with our Slip-Ribbed collection, machine-washing only makes the material softer and more comfortable to wear.

Do you think men are looking for versatility in their gear?

Absolutely. Our active wear collection is designed to be versatile – from the gym, to the pool, and even to the club.

What about diversity in body shapes?

Our products are designed to fit any body type. Yes, we want our product to stand out; but even more so, we want our customers to stand out and feel like their money was well spent.

Men have many different choices in underwear these days: briefs, boxer shorts, fitted boxers, leggings… What’s Undered’s best-selling underwear?

It’s true that men have very many choices when it comes to underwear that’s poorly made and falls apart, but there are far fewer choices when it comes to long-lasting and superior quality underwear like

What are the features of the Slip-Ribbed range?

The waistband is thick nylon-wrapped spandex for durable elasticity. The slipribbed fabric is 95% cotton and 5% Lycra blend for comfort and mobility. The edges and side vents are lined with slightly thicker and wider slip-ribbed fabric and intuitively contoured for maximum f lexibility and support. The slip-ribbed underwear collection is a quintessential part of the Undered product family. It’s a must-have!

We notice that the collection doesn’t yet include a jockstrap.

Thanks for the nudge! Yes, we have some very sexy jockstraps on the way. In fact, the Undered gym short is designed specifically for wearing with a jockstrap underneath. Our design team has been working to deliver maximum comfort and durability.

What are your thoughts on underwear with augmented pouches or built-in cock straps?

The technology is completely counterintuitive if the goal is to achieve a comfortable fit. We want to keep things simple by only including features that matter. We create designs that complement any body shape and size – even guys who are particularly well-endowed. Built in cock straps are just not comfortable for an everyday-style of underwear.
