MOVE OVER GRINCH, THE GAYS ARE GOING TO STEAL CHRISTMAS

We reported on Margaret Court’s claim that gay marriage would lead to Christmas being banned.

As a Canadian, where same-sex marriage has been legal nationally since 2005, and in most areas since 2003, I find these arguments absolutely incredible. There have been no changes in freedom of speech, any public expressions of hate, or incidence of violence against any identified group. We still have such vile hate spewed from pulpits by ministers to their congregations. It’s only when they spew it on the street corners that it comes to the attention of the law. In the 12 years since marriage was expanded to include same-sex couples, not a single holiday has been affected, but the level of acceptance and safety has improved. – Gavin Stephenson-Jackson
