SOUNDTRACK – CALL ME BY YOUR NAME

-

This acclaimed coming-of-age gay teen drama, featured in DNA last month and released in US and Australian cinemas on Boxing Day, sports an eclectic soundtrack. Opening with John Adama’s Hallelujah Junction: 1st Movement, it goes on to dabble in Japanese minimalism (Ryuichi Sakamoto’s M.A.Y. In The Backyard and Germination), ’80s slush rock (Giorgio Moroder’s Lady Lady Lady and FR David’s Words), and large scoops of French pop (Loredana Berte’s J’Adore Venise and Bandolero’s Paris Latino). It’s a collection that works well in the context of the movie, but when they’re all shoved up next to each other on one album it can make for sudden mood discombobulation. We advise enjoying the film and music as one.

File The Architect next to any of Adele’s albums and Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black.
