MEL AND KIM – WHERE IS LOVE?

Thirty years ago, two British sisters were top of the pops with a clutch of pop-tastic tunes like Showing Out, Respectable and FLM courtesy of some up and coming producers called Stock Aitken Waterman. Sadly, just as they were setting a chart-winning blueprint for others to follow like Kylie, Bananarama and Rick Astley, tragedy struck. Mel succumbed to cancer and they were – blub! sniff! wibble! – no more. Kim went solo briefly then left the music business but now, three decades later, a forgotten track by the girls has been given new life by the likes of remixers Kissy Sell Out and it’s a rip-roaring dance affair. Less pop and more club, Where Is Love is better late than never.
