Wisely avoiding becoming a soppy Ed Sheeran copycat, Missy has instead borrowed producers from Troye Sivan and Coldplay. This time she’s plunging down the electronic path while retaining a warm organic vibe, wrapping it all in her gift storytelling. Album opener Futon Couch details how she met her man.

“This is the happiest song on the record, so I wanted to start with it,” Missy explains. “It’s not often I write a straight-out, ‘Fuck it, I love you!’ song.” Ah, the joy of the honeymoon phase.
