Make the trucker cap great again! The “trucker hat” originated in the 1960s when US feed and farming supply companies sent free caps to farmers, truck drivers and other rural workers as a promotional giveaways.

Once the gays got their hands on the garment, though, it turned it into something glorious. Glitzed up, masc’d out versions of the trucker hat became an iconic piece of headwear seen on dance floors and in gay porn scenes the world over.

The trend for wearing the caps backwards, according to some style historians, originated with rent boys, who turned the cap around to stop it getting in the way while delivering a blowjob.
