RAMI MALEK: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

His favourite Queen song is Somebody To Love. He is of Egyptian and Greek descent. He has a twin brother called Sami, who is younger by four minutes.

He next lends his voice to the movie The Voyage Of Doctor Dolittle. You may have seen him in the last Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn II.

He’s currently dating his Bohemian Rhapsody co-star Lucy Boynton (who plays Mary Austin, Freddie’s lifelong female BFF).

Although British actor Dexter Fletcher is credited as director on Bohemian Rhapsody he wasn’t the first person attached to the project in that capacity. American writer/ director Bryan Singer (The Usual Suspects,

Superman Returns and six X-Men movies) spent three months working on the film before he was sacked from the movie due to “absences”.

Some reports suggested Singer did not get along with Rami Malek or the members of Queen. There were also reports that Singer was the next gay in the #metoo scandal after Kevin Spacey and The Guardian speculated that Fox wanted him off the project before the film came out and any potential scandal broke.

Claims of sexual abuse against Singer date back over 20 years to 1997 and the movie Apt

Pupil where he was accused of improperly filming naked boys for a shower scene. That suit was dismissed for insufficient evidence.

In 2014 he was accused of sexual assault – this was also dismissed. At the end of last year, in post-Harvey Weinstein Hollywood, Singer was accused of raping 17-year-old Cesar Sachez-Guzman. Coincidentally, it was at this point he exited the Bohemian

Rhapsody production, citing the need to look after his sick mother. Singer has since dropped from public eye and is working in a low-key producer capacity on the aptly named superhero movie Dark Phoenix.
