GUY PEARCE – THE NOMAD

In case you missed his first album, 2014’s Broken Bones, Aussie actor/hunk Guy dishes up a second serving of his mournful low-fi singer/songwriter offerings. If that sounds uninviting, what if we tell you it was produced by Madonna’s brother-in-law, Joe Henry, who co-wrote some of her biggest hits (Jump, Don’t Tell Me). Okay, that may not be such a big draw, but Guy has a pleasant drawl, the songs are sweet and – sniff! – he’s been through some major life changes. “I had a rather tumultuous year back in 2015,” he explains. “It began sadly with my marriage coming to an end.” This may not be a pop-tastic Priscilla soundtrack, but Guy acquits himself well and, hey, we’d still have his babies.
