Nige­rian pres­i­den­tial hope­ful Don­ald Duke (pic­tured) says he will not main­tain laws that crim­i­nalise gay peo­ple if he be­comes leader. He states that ho­mo­sex­u­als should stay in the closet but doesn’t see why they should be leg­is­lated against. Nige­ria is a con­ser­va­tive Chris­tian and Mus­lim coun­try and one of the most ho­mo­pho­bic in the world with some states car­ry­ing the death penalty for ho­mo­sex­u­al­ity.
