The city hosts a con­cen­tra­tion of US mil­i­tary per­son­nel (and the world’s big­gest naval fleet). Lots of hand­some men in uni­form. 3. Billed as “San Diego’s most pop­u­lar bar/club”, Rich’s boasts a mas­sive dance­floor and gay an­thems, plus lo­cals who’ll buy you beers. 4. Café 21 of­fers in­ven­tive om­lettes and big-serv­ings of cakes (sa­vory and sweet). Pos­si­bly the best break­fast in town. 5. In­sta­gramers, head to the quaint Gaslight Quar­ter, next to the bay. It’s full of funky his­toric build­ings, gas lamps and cute stores. 6. Ev­ery­thing you want in San Diego is gen­er­ally no more than 10 min­utes away so grab a Lyft or Uber. 7. The seafood is fresh and de­li­cious and you’ll eat well for less. The city is also famed for whale watch­ing dur­ing win­ter. 8. Ghi­rardelli boasts luxe cho­co­lates, quirky ge­lato and huge fudge sun­daes, per­fect for post-Pride carb load­ing. 9. After Pride, San Diego hosts Comic­Con, the world’s big­gest pop cul­ture con­ven­tion, so stay on for cos­play and su­per­hero fun. 10. Dont fly. Catch the train down the haunt­ing Cal­i­for­nian coast (two hours from LA) ar­riv­ing at San Diego’s his­toric Santa Fe sta­tion.
