It would just be too easy (and shamefully lazy journalism) to call country hottie Brett Young the male Taylor Swift… but because we’re shameless we’re going to do it anyway. A visitor to Australia’s shores last year to mucho acclaim, this blond babe recently became engaged so there’s plenty of hetero-love being sung about on his second album, but it’s more “aw shucks” sweet than annoying. The title track even gives country music a fresh lick and a grittier urban edge. “A big part of my life has become flying home to Los Angeles,” Brett declares. While we love his music, the voice, and, yes, admittedly, his looks, the only thing we’re really surprised about is that Taylor Swift hasn’t dated him. Instead, he’s engaged to another girl called Taylor. Country singers, eh?
