As much as I found it intriguing, I also saw humour in it, but I was also always aware that what I found desirable was deemed deviant and disgusting. When I came of age and was in charge of my own life, I knew I had to unlearn all of that bullshit. I write about it because I like to. I also write about it to shed its weight. I aim to normalise it.”
