DNA names and shames the year’s worst haters, homophobes and halfwits.

“For the last 30 years, the homosexual agenda has been wanting to desensitize our communities, our children, our families.” – Genevieve Peters shouts anti-gay abuse during Drag Queen Story Time for children at a Californian bookshop.

“If you know of a homosexual, you must report them to a police officer… No one can escape.” – Paul Makonda, governor of the Tanzanian city of Dar es Salaam, launches a “crackdown” on LGBT citizens. Hundreds have fled the city and are in hiding.

“[This] sex club [will] bring divine retribution against Lebanon.” – Lebanon’s former Grand Mufti, Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Qabbani, orders the cancellation of a social event organised by The Gender And Sexuality Club at the American University of Beirut. That’s a bit shabby, Sheikh.

“We do not accept LGBT but if [the West] want to accept, that is their business. Don’t force it on us… Why should we follow that?” – Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad (above), believes Malaysians don’t deserve “Western” things like… civil rights.

“People like you should be put in a cage with the rest of the wild animals.” – Alleged comments from Andy Singh, manager of the Clifton Mount Hotel in Newcastle, England, to a lesbian couple staying at his establishment. Look him up on Trip Advisor.

“We need more Pulse nightclub incidents.” – An anonymous letter sent to gay Philadelphian politician, Brian Sims, referring to the Florida gay club shooting in which killed 49 people were killed. Sims defiantly shared the letter on social media.

“It is my duty as a white man to cull the weak and timid from existence… Homosexuals are a disease to mankind and must be put down…” – Convicted killer Peter Avsenew (above) in a letter attempting to “explain” why he killed a gay couple in the US in 2010 and would again, given the chance. “These weren’t the first and they won’t be the last,” he wrote of his victims.

“This is warning to all men and women (gays)… If you don’t leave the camp we are going to kill you one by one and we mean it.” – Anti-gay warning to LGBT refugees after they celebrated an impromptu Pride in a Kenyan refugee camp.

“Transforming Hungarian boys into homosexuals.” – Hungarian newspaper, Magyor Idok on Billy Elliot: The Musical. Hungarian State Opera cancelled 15 shows after the paper accused the show of “rampant gay propaganda”. The Book Of Mormon is not expected to open there any time soon.

“As far as homosexuality goes, I believe the bible puts the death penalty on it… It’s the government’s job to execute criminals… Homosexuals are 50 more times likely to get AIDS… We got this AIDS thing spreading.” – Preacher, Matt Powell takes to YouTube to spread Christian values like love, forgiveness and compassion. For the record, Matt, most people who are HIV positive are heterosexual and rates of HIV are decreasing worldwide.

“I’ve never liked a grown man acting like a 12-year-old girl. I’ve always found that to be quite disgusting… Nothing encapsulates the sissiness of a guy quite like the word ‘faggot’… I have a fairly robust resentment of the gay community.” – Music producer Pogo, aka Nick Bertke, in an online video. After it went viral, he attempted to backtrack, saying it was a “joke that went too far”.
