Konstantin Kamynin, the musical muscle hunk from Moscow, by Serge Lee.

DNA: We have wanted you on the cover since you were known as Kirill Dowidoff! Konstantin: I have done some magazine covers, but none as famous as DNA. I don’t even remember their names. To be on the cover of DNA is a big pleasure for me! I’m so proud. Why did you change your name from Kirill? When my modelling career began, I had an agent, and together we decided to take a nickname, Kirill Dowidoff. When I finished working with him, I decided to use my real name, Konstantin Kamynin.

You’ve been a famous physique model for many years, you have your own calendars – you must have fans all over the world?

Yes, I do. Really, a lot, you might say! When I go to a country, I always meet people on the street who know me. Even now, when I finished my career of modelling, and now work in theaters, people still recognize me.

Tell us about your career in the theatre. Do you manage a theatre company?

I have my own theater company, the Conlucia Opera Theater. We’ve already done several projects. I am a producer and director of musical theater. It’s my main career. It’s my passion. I put myself in it 100 per cent.

Do you also work with other opera companies?

Yes, I do. I work on others theater projects, like stage managing. I am also an actor but only sometimes. I play in some dramatic performances. Not operas.

In this photoshoot by Serge Lee you’re wearing headphones – what kind of music do you most enjoy?

Opera. It’s really strange, but I’m crazy for this kind of music. I also like good pop music like Muse, Imagine Dragons, and movie soundtracks.

Are you gay?

I am bisexual.

Do you have a partner?

I don’t because I’m crazy about my career. In relationships, people love to be in one place. I can’t give this.

Verdi, Mozart, Donizetti and Puccini inspire me. I’m crazy for opera!

Do you go to the gym most days?

Gym is my second passion. In the gym I can stay alone with my mind. And I like to look good and I like getting bigger. I want to have a big, muscly body. I visit the gym really very often, sometimes even in the night.

What is your diet like?

I want to get a very big, muscly body… So I try to eat very often and a lot! But only good food! Do you think President Putin colluded with President Trump to influence the US election?

I really don’t know, and I really don’t care about politics and its games.

What’s the best thing about living in Moscow? Moscow is the best city in the world. This city has a crazy rhythm of life. This city has money. This city has amazing culture. This city likes serious people who work. This city gives me everything what I dream of.

What’s life like for LGBT people living in Moscow?

Everything is alright with LGBT life in Moscow. We have lots of gays and lesbians. We just can’t show it in public places. For me, I don’t agree with people who show affection on the streets anyway.

Where do you like to holiday?

In the cinema or the theater.

What turns you on instantly?

A person’s energy and a good body.

Who inspires you?

Verdi, Mozart, Donizetti, Puccini in music. In bodybuilding, I’m inspired by big muscle guys. I want to be like them. It’s beautiful. I think I am still very small.

What makes you feel strong?

When I exist in harmony with myself.
