LAYKE – LAYKE PART 1 EP

Describing herself as an “indie dream pop artist” and making sure DNA is well aware she’s a “fiercely loyal LGBTQ member”, this Texan-born but LA-based artist is planning to help heal the world’s problems via some vintage synths, recognizable riffs and classic grooves preciously donated from the 1980s. That’s no bad thing for this self-defined pansexual, queer individual who, on her debut EP, displays a bristling dark, moody Gaga-esque side on the menacing Beautiful War. Conversely, her first official single, Strangers In The Dark, with a video shot in downtown LA, transforms Layke into our very own Ariana Grande – slicing a gritty edge together with a sweeter side. This is but Layke’s starting point.
