DOLLY PARTON – DUMPLIN’

Like Cher and Barbra Streisand, Dolly seems to have no concept of retiring gracefully – or at all. Her #metoo musical, 9 To 5: The Musical, has just landed a West End production in London and, at age 73, she’s recorded this soundtrack for the Netflix film Dumplin’ starring Jennifer Aniston. Because she’s Dolly she presumably Whatsapped some of her big-name buddies like Macy Gray and Miranda Lambert to help her out here. Even Australia’s own Sia gets to join Dolly for a strident gal-on-gal duet on Here I Am, which is not a surprise since the album was produced by the music indutry’s go-to lesbian Linda Perry, who previously produced beautiful work with Christina Aguilera and P!nk.
