AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT
SUBJECT: JARED MURPHY
DNA: How much retouching or PhotoShopping do you apply to the finished images?
Lucas Murnaghan: I used to be really offended by this question but I’ve learned to take it as a compliment, choosing to interpret it as someone being unable to believe that something was possible without digital intervention. In this image, Jared and I were swimming back through a river canyon when I saw these shafts of light. I directed him to the spot and in a single take we created this image, one-hundred per cent in-camera, just good light, an incredible subject and a healthy dose of luck.
