DRAG QUEEN, DIVA, DJ!
Before the official ribbon cutting, RuPaul, surrounded by Drag Race judge Michelle Visage and queens including Brooke Lynn Hytes, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, Nina West, Manila Luzon, Genie, Serena ChaCha and Darienne Lake, made an inspiring speech.
“We are spreading the what? The love!” he proclaimed, hyping up the crowd of gays, straights, non-binary, drag queens and kids alike. “We are here to entertain, to celebrate and to spread the love!”
Ru took part in panel discussions and happily chatted about his early days as a drag go-go dancer. He also turned his hand to DJing on the main stage.
“Five years in, RuPaul’s DragCon has become the most inclusive party on earth,” he exclaimed, “a safe place to laugh, dance and celebrate every colour of the rainbow. Thank you to our sponsors, vendors, and the queendom that make all of this possible.
