GAY LIFE IN TOKYO

-

The tiny bars around the streets of Shinjuku-Nichome is where the gay nightlife happens. The locals are very friendly and polite and even if there’s a language barrier, conversations can be had. There’s also the international gay language that doesn’t require a lot of interpreting!

There’s the bearish Eagle Bar, the outdoorsy Aiirocafe (left), the tiny Bar Blacknude, which seats only about six people and has a bartender wearing a micro-brief (see image above), and the cruisy Dragon Men, which is fun for a cocktail and a dance. Not recommended is Campy Bar (we were asked to pay a lounge fee for sitting down, even though the bar was empty).
