WILL’S “MANIFESTO-MEMOIR”
Will is in the middle of writing a new book. “It’s called How To Be A Gay Man,” he says.
“It’s me going through my life and looking at the different stages where shame was piled on to me as a gay person, as a young boy, as a teenager, as a young man. I want to create workshops from the book, too, so it becomes a more actualized physical thing and explains how you can do it.”
The project started, says Will, “when I was googling workshops on gay shame and all I could find was conversion therapy.”
Clearly that wasn’t going to work for him. “I don’t think so,” he replies with a laugh. The book will be Will’s third published work. He co-wrote his autobiography, Funny Peculiar, in 2012, as well as a bestselling book about his reality TV pop star experience, Anything Is Possible, back in 2002.
Expect How To Be A Gay Man, which Virgin Books describe as “a taboobreaking manifesto-memoir”, to hit bookshelves in May 2020.
